I'm looking for a decent BR player mainly for the netflix streaming right now. Right now I'm deciding between this model and the Samsung BD-P1600 for about $30 more. Does anybody have any experience with either model or can recommend a good alternative for $150 or less?

Acc to Amazon reviews, LG is slightly better than the Samsung which has given users more problems. LG was on newegg for 130 and no tax, free ship till yesterday - now it is sold out.

130+tax is still a decent (not great) price - at least you are not overpaying. I thought Frys had this for $80 around Black Fri - probably not worth pitching a tent outside to save a few bucks on the very limited quantities that day.

I just got the LG from Amazon. There was a problem connecting it to the internet getting a "Network congestion" message. It was fixed by setting the DNS to OpenDNS servers. Google the error message and model for the solution. I heard that a new firmware update has fixed the problem. Otherwise, it works great!

I voted with my wallet last week and ordered this LG for $130 from World Wide Stereo with no tax and free shipping. Hopefully it will be here by Friday. Don't forget that you will need a network connection for netflix. I ordered a DAP-1522 from Amazon for $80 shipped to act as a 4 port wireless hub.

This model also qualifies for a free Blue-Ray movie at Bestbuy. I bundled the new Star Trek movie with it so that makes it a little bit more of a deal.

What recession? #3, if price is sticking point, why not just do without and wait 6 months? In 6 months or less, blue ray players will probably be had for $60.
