bluray is ded
why?
Because if Brokeback Mountain doesn't get released in Blu-ray soon, nuisance_sucks would have to burn his own copy from HD-DVD.

wasn't this just 95 last week? wtf happened?

Just get Net Flix and save your cash and bandwidth.
BB is a soap opera.
$95 last week was just a Blu-ray READER. This is a Blu-ray BURNER and HD DVD reader.
#1 it is not dead yet but TeraDisc is projected to start killing it starting in 2010. Cheaper product to produce, more capcity and supposedly a 50 year shelf life for disc contents. Company called Mempile is producing it.
Specs and info are here:

Israeli technology? No thanks.
Thanks #9.
#11, yeah agreed but the part that was interesting is that Hitachi is supposedly bank rolling them.

Netflix? No thanks. I prefer media that hasn't been trampled on by 15,000 people then delivered to my door in a paper scratches-the-crap-out-of-the-disc sleeve. And their web service is a joke too - with considerable lack of multi channel audio and dismal picture quality.
Don't get me wrong, it's a truly great service (and cost efficient for sure) if you don't mind its shortfalls, I just wouldn't compare it to Blu-Ray.
Wow, Blu-ray Burner. Love it but not for now.
how much is a blank blu-ray disk? can u make copy of your blu-ray dvds?
#15, you should save your money and only go to live performances. Much higher resolution.
i'll wait till they are $25
Nice price....I got this same drive for $199 about 3 months ago though so it really hasn't dropped at all. Media prices are still a killer though at $5 a disc for the cheapest ones. Rewritable 50GB discs are still $40 a disc!!
