@tristansmimz If you're buying in bulk for gifts try the Sony N200. It supports all the major VOD sites (including Amazon Prime), supports every format of video/audio I've thrown at it, has a fantastic UI that wives and kids can easily use, and it's cheap (40-50 bucks). It's a rock solid unit with a high quality remote. I'm not a huge fan of Sony products but the N100/200 is great. I went through a dozen cord-cutter boxes before settling on that one. I own 3 and have "gifted" 3. Also, it has composite, component, and HDMI outputs so it's still useful to people who have not upgraded their TV yet..
@Forbidden if you're giving these away as gifts the PIVOS is not what you want. It's a geeks dream device but nothing you want to buy for grandma. Not to mention that a Pivos + Harmony One is well over $200... that's a helluva gift.
@musaffa, if you are referring to the Sony SMP-N200, it doesn't play every format. I bought one and it doesn't play ISO, FLV and some AVI files. Seagate Theater Plus plays just about everything.
Very true, The Sony unit is not ISO or FLV friendly. Those are not format I often share with family/friends though. MKV, Divx, MP4, and AVCHD are the biggies now days. ISO is a dying container IMO, it's terribly inefficient. And you're right, the Seagate Theater boxes are great. They are just a bit cost prohibitive to buy in bulk like the OP mentioned.
Reviews at Amazon are sketchy at best. Sounds like the device has poor wireless and boasts Amazon Prime for which LG no longer has a contract.
Thanks for a clear review 'malarrya'. Is Roku my best bet, if I'm buying these in bulk for Christmas gifts?
When I went to checkout, it reported that it was only available IN STORE and could not ship.
Get the AIOS PIVOS media player.
Best on the market and then install this firmware.

Pure bliss...
Plays every format you throw at it...MKV, MP4, AVI etc etc
If you dont like the remote with it get a Harmony One
You wont be dissapointed!
I have tried every media player out there.
