I bought one of these from the circuit city "blow-out" joke-tastick sale for $70 and I HATE IT. Range on it sucks ass. I cant even get a good wireless-g signal on it when I am right below it on the floor underneath where it is.

Just about the best wireless G signal can only be had in the same room with it. What a POS. They should have at least put some way of attaching an external antenna to it. Maybe that's too much to ask from a FRIGGIN' RADIO DEVICE....

Having purchased it from CC sale I could not return it. $70 lesson learned, and last linksys router I ever buy.

PS> If you get a WRT160N version 2 just box it right back up and send it back to wherever you got it. Then purchase some other brand. You can't even put DD-WRT on it because it uses a completely diferent chipset in it. Mine's a version 2. *sigh*

Yah, these routers are pretty bad. One of the worst out there for the money.

Linksys' new design (call it a UFO/Hockey Puck) has to be one of the worst decisions I've ever seen a company make. they went away from external (sometimes removable) antennas to putting all antennas internal and in the horizontal plane. The result is just a bad set of routers that gets out performed by all of the competition.

thanks for the heads up. I'll pass. Does any N router work well? They all seem to suck in the $50 range.

D-Link is making excellent routers right now the DIR-615 is a good basic N router, but if you can find the DIR-655 for around $79, that's a
    Knock Knock.
    Who's there?
    Bacon.
    Bacon who?
deal. The 655 is one of the best routers I've seen in a long time.
