Very lousy router. I own one, and, although I can connect various N adapters at greater than 54mbps, the throughput is basically the same as running the router in 54mbps mode (G). For instance, when connected at 54mbits, my throuhput is 30% of the link speed, however when connected using N at 108mbps I my throughput is registered at 15%. The throughput doesn't actually change based on the speed. I want to like it, especially at the current price but it's really not up to speed.

Have you tried flashing to dd-wrt? Might be an issue with bad Linksys firmware.

I haven't looked at the version on my router yet to determine if it can be flashed. Also I have read about others doing exactly that, however I haven't read about anyone actually getting better throughput with that firmware. Seems like a complicated mess to go that route.

The dd-wrt site mentions v1.0, 1.1, and 2.0 as being compatible, though I don't know all the details. You can certainly turn your router into a worthless hunk of junk if you mess up the flash, but it seems the wrt300n can be "unbricked", unlike some other routers. I've put dd-wrt on three routers now and while my throughput might not have been increased they have all been extremely stable.
