I just got the WRT160N from circuit city closeout near my house for $75 after tax. Now I'm kicking myself as this is a MUCH better router for $20 less!

      Damn I suck.

That's why I didn't bother getting anything from CC. Even with 20% off, that barely covers their insane overhead when compared with online retailers.

The WRT600N refurb can be had for just under $100. Dual transmitters if it matters to you. Also a great router.

We use a Linksys router to deal with our 3 desktops and 3 laptops in the house. Our current router is at least 3 years old. Would this be a good router to have on hand when our's goes kaput?? I'm somewhat technically challenged especially in the vernacular so please be patient with me as I ask ?'s some may consider too elementary. TIA.

One of my buddies picked this up last time it went on sale, it is a good device and will run DD-WRT mega build. Only downside is that it does not have a built in gigabit switch but for $54 it is a deal.

#1 - Why would you bother buying something from someplace that doesn't allow returns (since they're going out of business)? What - you saw big lines at the store so you said to yourself that they *must* have good prices and therefore you should buy?

      Hmm.. am I going to get a 2.0 or 1.1? Looks like DD-WRT only works 1.0 and 1.1 ..

This is not a good N router. I repeat, this is a crappy N router. It's G speeds and reliability are way up there but the N leaves a lot to be desired.
