Is there a Wireless N router available that isn't backward compatible with B/G?

    Agree with #2.
Esp. when they send you a defective router and they won't replace it.

I've bought refurbed things through Geeks and never had problems. YMMV of course, just saying that they've always seemed comparable to anyone else that specializes in weird/old/refurb merchandise.

Reseller "DigitalEtc" at Amazon.com has the "Cisco Certified Refurbished" Cisco/Linksys E2000 for $40 with free shipping. I ordered two of them and a $99 refurbished E3000 this morning. The WRT320N and E2000 are the same hardware, but the E2000 has a few extra features in its firmware and has twice the NVRAM available as the WRT320N. The NVRAM is simply disabled in the WRT320N, and you can actually convert a WRT320N into a E2000 fairly easily (do a web search for instructions).

I'm going to load dd-wrt on all three units, set up the simultaneously dual-band E3000 as my central router, and use the two E2000s as 5GHz WDS extenders.

Go to this listing at Amazon.com and click the link for refurbished items for the $40 refurbished E2000. Fulfillment is by Amazon and the item is Prime-eligible:

    Reference #7:

    The E2000 @ Digitaletc.com is $36 ($60 - $24 with coupon E2000SD).

Thanks for the info, #8. Looks like the same router from the same seller for $4 cheaper.

One comment in your linked thread mentions a 2-week delivery time, though, and estimated delivery for my E2000s is March 8. Not bad, considering I ordered on March 7. I'm an Amazon Prime member, though, and Prime 2-day shipping applies to this item.
