I have tried this router, and it IS true; you will not be fussing with any of that fancy jargon found on next generation routers. Great router to recommend for your not-so computer savvy friends who want "the wireless internet" at home.
Negative on this one. This is a WRT54G, which is a marginalized version of the router (8MB of RAM inside instead of 16MB, can not use most third party Linux firmware upgrades).
You'd be better off buying a WRT54GL, or the Buffalo AirStation WHR-G54S from Circuit City for the same price (plus pick it up in store today, no shipping).

This router has been working like a charm for the last 4 months for me. I would totally recommend it as well if you want a router that never really needs to be reset.
#1, what 'fancy jargon' are you referring to?
I bought this router after my US Robotics router died after about two years of usage. That was three years ago. Solid router.
#5 your three year old router is much better in design, software and execution than this current one.

Not as nice as sveasoft, but it'll do for routers like this.
Works fairly well
I'm running a dd-wrt v24 micro version on the "neutered" version of this router and it works like a charm.
I just bought one using Google check out, seems like a good price a $30. My Belkin just died.
I got the GL for $30 6 months ago. Haven't reset in 6 months.
