Buy.com has the refurbished Linksys WRT54G2 IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless-G Broadband Router for $29 + $0 shipping = $29 shipped. This is the followup to the popular WRT54G, one of the most popular wireless routers in history. [Compare]

I hear it works well for IEEE but is lacking for b/g.

    #3, aren't the 802.X standards from IEEE?

#5 you're right. IEEE makes the 802.X standards. It doesn't lack for b/g at all. I use this one in my house and it's range is good and I feel no lag in the wireless connection. I'm quite pleased with how this router handles itself. I'm also happy with how Linksys uses the same setup console for all their routers, there are a few options left out of this lower level router but it is still very useful

thisisjace, that linksys on surplus computers is a refurb as well. as a matter of fact, the $35 does not include shipping. so if you think from a dollar perspective, buy.com's deal is better.

Looks like the DD-WRT upgrade is somewhat complicated, anyone done it? I'm thinking of using this as a bridge to my WRT54G running DD-WRT... I assume the bridge setup is pretty simple once you get DD-WRT on both devices.

    Any input is appreciated.
