What's the best/easiest ripping software to make backup copies of Bluray movies I already own? Thanks in advance.

Not sure about best/easiest but I believe DVDFab Decrypter will rip it and it's free. I use it but don't have/do blewray so YMMV.

AnyDVD is probably the best but isn't free. There is a free trial period. Virtual Clone Drive is free and a must have for viewing .iso on your pc.

Got this drive for $52 last july. Works perfect. Already had a DVD writer.

#6, but you can down-convert the quality to standard DVD and make it fit, right?

Why get blu-ray if you want to down-convert it? Why not just burn DVD quality to a single sided DVD and use a upconverting player? If you want to downgrade a blu-ray disk, you don't have a blu-ray player so again, why do you have blu-ray movies?

I would like to be able to do it so I could take my Blu-Ray movies and make a DVD copy to use in my truck (I wish Kenwood would just make an in dash Blu-Ray player so I could replace mine).
