Reader only, does not burn CDs or DVDs. So if you have limited drive space and need a burner, this one is not for you.

Really? So why don't the "Hello, I'm a PC..." ads ever mention this mac short coming? I guess there's no truth in advertising.

I got this last time around for $5 more. Great for what it does (allow me to watch BR on my htpc). I think anyone who is disappointed it's not a writer need to go back and work on their reading comprehension.
But if you run Windows 7 expect to have to upgrade PowerDVD or get a different solution. I still have some stuttery video problems on some BR titles with PDVD9 Ultra. But I don't think it's because of the drive, so I can't fault it for that. It's either my Video (Integrated Radeon 3200) driver or PDVD9. I expect to do some troubleshooting to narrow it down this weekend. I suspect PDVD.

#6 I test alot of products for fun.. Get the PowerDvd 9.0 Ultra.. I give you a link for 30 days free trail.. After download or intall. Go to the (TrueTheater Effects) on bottom in the center, check on TrueTheater HD to Sharpest and exit.. Bingo.. Every regular Dvd disk you put in will be in HD almost as good as BR.. No need to buy a BR player, untill price drops..
