I am using this as my default desktop mouse, and that the buttons can be programmed is a longstanding feature of the Logitech brand that keeps me coming back to them. A caveat with this mouse is that I'm on my second replacement of the original. For some reason, the left click button starts double-clicking after 5-7 months worth of use. Logitech has been happy to overnight me a new replacement both times the original and first replacement failed. Given the mouse has a 3 year warranty, I expect to get another one or two mice from this warranty assuming the current hardware fails in the same manner as it did on the first two mice. Logitech does ask that you try the mouse on another system while you are on the phone with them, and they also ask you to modify a setting or two on your system--easy stuff--nothing to harm anything. After that, if the device still fails, you are going to be sent a new mouse if under warranty. Frankly, I cannot complain about the hardware failures as Logitech is very speedy to replace the defective unit. I do like their products better than the rest available, thus, I am satisfied with my purchase. This is a great mouse!
These are great little notebook mice.
