The G9x mouse for $35 is a good deal. Logitech's warranty department is amazing and they have never been fussy about replacing their stuff.

^ Sure, it looks like a scrub pad or steel wool will get it off, though the finish "may" look a little scuffed afterwards... hard to say since it looks like that rubberized stuff they put on a lot of mice, which sometimes holds up well to abrasion. You might try acetone instead though it could eat into/melt parts of the mouse if it gets on them.
Denatured alcohol often times works. Start with the gentlest stuff first. Abrasion should be a last...
I doubt alcohol will make a difference, most types of paints that are alcohol soluble would also very easily/quickly come off if on something a person's hand was repetitively in contact with.
