I have gotten 8 feet to work fairly well on fresh batteries.

I wasn't sure if I would like this one, so I got one from JustDeals.com for under $30 shipped (refurbed) and haven't regretted the purchase at all.

I have this exact model, typing on it right now actually. Love it. I'd say the comfortable range is about 10 feet or closer.

I like the uniform-sized keys with these ergos. The variable-sized ones are tricky getting used to. Typo city.

I'm using this keyboard, and the transmitter works fine for distance, but I've got it plugged in the back of my computer and it has occasional problems when my keyboard is in one or two spots... don't know why, but it stops transmitting, if I move it by an inch or two its fine, and from across the room (~15ft) its no problem. Plus it comes with an extension for the usb port, with a 3ft or so cord to put it up where you want it, I just didn't want that on my desk. I am Very Very happy with the feel of the keys, pretty quiet, very nice layout, good key size, only issue is that the home/end/delete/pageup/down section is vertical as opposed to horizontal, not a big deal, most upper end keyboards use them that way, but I always preferred the other layout. Great buy.

I've got the Logitech MX6000 and I can use it about 15-16 feet away no problem. Uses bluetooth and that is with somewhat dead batteries as well.

I find this misleading. Its curved, but an ergonomic keyboard should have a split down the middle if possible because unless you are as skinny as a twig, you will naturally require a split to be more ergonomic.

#13, i think the point of the wave is that it doesn't need to split down the middle because it places your fingers in their natural position so you don't get that unnatural twist in your wrist (that would require an ergonomic keyboard to correct for)

I have the wired version. Been using it for about 8 month now, Its not bad, but I spend sometimes to get use to it. The keyboard is taller than every other I've used, the palm rest is very nice and comfortable. I like the fact that there is a calculator key, so I don't have to search for the apps no more when i need to do some math.

At one of my company's offices, we have a unit with a touchpad built into the keyboard, so there's only one device -- and it easily has a 15ft range. I'd like to see one of those on Ben's, since for the recliner browsing it would be great not to have to deal with a separate mouse...
