Staples.com has the Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave for $50 with free shipping. Uniform-size keys cradle your fingers, while the curved keyboard promotes a more ergonomically correct hand position. [BizRate]

I picked it up at amazon for $50 with free super saver shipping. Shipped the following day. No rebates or anything. Logitech rebates have been problematical for me in the past. I wouldnt purchase anything logitech if it required a rebate to be processed. However thats just my view. YMMV.

As for the keyboard/mouse combo, I am using it now and like it. THe hand rest is nice and the typing is comfortable. The only issue is the mouse which is universal has side buttons which I inadvertently hit time to time.

#3 the software that came with the mouse should allow you to deactivate or change the functions of the side buttons.

The Wireless Desktop (including mouse) is equal in price to the corded Keyboard. Seems like a good deal

Note that the mouse is laser and not optical, and the keyboard have dedicated buttons for calculator and shutting down Windows. Minor convenience I suppose, to do your taxes and quit Windows when you eyes are starting to hurt.

#3: Use the Logitech tool and assign no action to the two buttons. I agree with #4 because that's what I did.

#5: I use rechargable batteries for both the keyboard and mouse, and I don't need to recharge them for about three months. The keyboard has a function key to check battery life, and the mouse have a light to tell you when it's time to replace your batteries when you power on the mouse. I love the mouse because it actually have a power on/off button to save battery.

I scored more kills with this keyboard/mouse combo in DOOM! Love this combo!

My experience with Bluetooth is the mouse works fine, but the keyboard can get flaky at times.
