WORDS OF WARNING. I ordered a "Dented Box" MX Revolution from logitech a few weeks ago from one of Ben's links. On the Logitech site, they say about dented box products "The product itself is guaranteed to be in brand new condition". When the mouse arrived, I opened it to find that it had been clearly and significantly used. The pads on the bottom were worn, there were scratches and pen marks on it and there was crud between the cracks. I called Logitech and spoke to a CS rep who, in turn, spoke to a supervisor. The supervisor informed the rep to tell me that is what you get when you order a dented box. I then asked to speak to the supervisor (Shelton Frank). He first tried to tell me that dented boxes could be refurbs and that they can be used. I told him that that was not true. He then tried to tell me that I had to take this up with the vendor from whom I linked to their site (Ben's Bargains), saying it was there issue. I told him that was ridiculous and that I purchased the product directly from Logitech. He then told me that I purchased the product from “buylogitech.comâ€. I asked if they were the same company and he said no. I then typed buylogitech.com into my browser and it redirected to Logitech.com. After that, he reluctantly agreed to resolve the issue, but told me I should chalk this up to a learning experience. At that point, he told me that the MX Revolution was out of stock and that I would have to order another product. After much arguing, He agreed to refund me for the Revolution and sell me a new MX1100 for $40. Not exactly what I wanted, but at least (hopefully) it will be new.
So a few words of warning. 1) Despite what Logitech's website says, dented box products may be used and 2) Logitechâ€&ac... [Truncated]
I ordered 2 MX 1100's last time the were posted on here, also dented box, they both looked new, except one didnt work, i called their CS and the rep had no prob sending me another new one.
I guess the first thing you have to tell a manager is that "I bought this in good faith that the advertising was correct; you're not holding up your end of the bargain and I hope you enjoy dealing with my credit card company - Have a nice day" and then just have your credit card refund the amount. No sweat off your back as long as you've got the literature to prove you're correct.
#3 very smart.. Yes!.. That's the correct way to do it, As of using a credit card as long as your buying things over 50 miles away you can take this route, most credit cards will back you 100% and if under 50miles then you have to deal with the merchant to get it resolve..
#3 - What you say is true. As a matter of fact, they offered to refund me my money. However, $50 for the MX Revolution is a vary good deal and it is what they advertised on their site. What I really want is for them to honor their original deal (which incidentally is still available) and send me a new mouse.
Target has "EX 100" for $15.
Just spoke to someone in their issue escelation department (Emily Veracruz). She was very nice and was horrified by what the supervisor had told me. She said that they did indeed have the MX revolution in stock and that she was shipping one out to me right away. That's how customer service should be handled. I just wish it was handled that way from the beginning.
