I agree with #1. If you're going to be spending this much, spend a little more to get the better system.

Make sure the remote and the wire connecting it are never damaged. logitech will not sell you a replacement remote, you will have ti buy a whole new system.

If this was in the $100 price range it would be worth it.

The matrix is on the cheapest logitech speakers... not much as a feature...for $150 go for some name brand..logitech is cheap in term of speakers.

doesn't software do matrix mode as well? so why spend extra to get a feature that you can get free?

I got the Logitech X-540 5.1 speaker system for $50 at Circuit City like 2 months ago and have been loving it. It's nothing professional but most common users would find the sound pretty amazing. Combined with my PC and projector, they make a decent bedroom theater setting.

Now it's going for $70 at CC:

It's 140 Watts (15 Watts less) output but half the price, I think it's not a bad alternative.

The matrix mode thing sounds kinda funny, e unless feature, but when used with a 5.1 sound card, it's not bad.

This seems really expensive. You can buy a decent name brand home theater in a box for the same amount of cash. Instead of just speakers you can get a DVD player and full surround sound system.

This takes up too much room. After all the experimenting with speakers, it became too cluttered and I really only needed 2.1 but I got a Niro 5.1 all-in-one unit anyway.
