Newegg has the Logitech G700 Hybrid Wired/Wireless Gaming Mouse for $75 - $10 off with coupon code LOGIKM118 [Exp 1/24] = $65 with free shipping. Think of it as a gaming oriented Performance MX mouse with more buttons and a 5700dpi sensor.
Awesome mouse. I already own two of them and I just ordered a 3rd. I use one for work and it is great for that too; not just gaming. I can create/map macros on the fly for repetative work.
I agree, great mouse at a great price, however coming from the MX Revolution, I was shocked at how quickly the battery dies. On the Revolution, I can go a few weeks without having to recharge, the G700 is 3 or 4 days max. Not a big issue, as you can still use the mouse while it's charging - I was just surprised at the low capacity of the included battery compared to the Revolution.
@2 That's because the polling rate on the Revolution is 125hz. I turned down the polling on mine and the battery life improved quite a bit. (Sometimes I double it for games, but honestly on a good mouse I can't tell the difference between the polling settings.) It's still not as good as the Rev, but when it's processing 5X as much information you have to compromise somewhere.
What I miss most is the free spin autoshift. I understand they probably made it mechanical due to autoshift failures, but I loved how it would go into frictionless mode depending on your scroll speed.
