$160 can buy you a lot of universal remotes. you can have 1 in every room. why use this brick?
The biggest advantage is the macro setting which allows you to customize turning on/off multiple components with the touch of a single button. For instance when I touch PS3, it turns on the TV, sets the correct HDMI input, turns on my receiver and sets it to the proper audio input and finally turns on the PS3. To have this level of sophistication, you (unfortunately) must pay north of $100. This unit allows for many macros and supports a huge number of components. Long-winded reason it is worth the extra denaros.
