Almost $300 for a remote? People are crazy these days....but hey if you are rich then why not spend it on one these bad boys when around the world people are starving and dying of disease. But hey the heck with them right when you can have a bad azz remote like this.

America are slaves to commodities and over indulgence.

Thanks, #1. Glad to know people like you still exist. I mean, look at #2 here. He already spent 10 grand on a fembot and now wants a $300 remote to mute it!

#1 and #3, don't blame others because you dropped out of school to start a band... and yes, I'd like fries with that.

Stop overindulging yourself on the computer you use #1. You could be saving people starving in ethiopia, but you choose to selfishly use a computer and enjoy your commodity. I bet you drive a car too...you make me sick.

Got one of these for X-Mas - never would have bought one myself. I love it, though - bit of a godsend considering the number of gadgets hooked up to the system. Can't say it's worth that much money? But it sure makes things a lot easier.

#1 - "around the world people are starving and dying of disease"

Really? Where do you think these commodities are made? Perhaps in at 3rd world country? It is much better to buy products, and create jobs, than to just give money to people. Remember that story about teaching somebody how to fish? Spending money creates jobs. Good people would much rather work at a job and earn their money, than be on welfare.

If you have they money, and you want this product, please buy it. If not, don't buy it. How dare you judge people for spending the money they have earned.

The reason America is economically prosperous is largely because it has been able to develop a socio - economic system that's been conducive to it. People everywhere, including the third world, want to be more prosperous but have been unable to develop a system that has resulted in as much prosperity.

By a society's socio - economic system, I refer to the checks and balances and incentives that it gives to different kinds of individual behavior.

Modifying a system is a hard thing to do and is generally beyond the realm of any one person.

Unfortunately people in poor countries pay a steep price for their poor system.

Principles of evolution dictate that poorly adapted entities be allowed to die. However, the entity here is the socio - economic system of poor countries, not their people. Biologically, people everywhere are almost identical. Their prosperity or lack thereof is not caused by their biology, but by their socio - economic system.

If prosperous countries wish to help, they should do so by finding ways of promoting the right changes to take place in other countries' systems. Outright handouts are justifiable only for the short term.

Unfortunately, many actions, such as buying this remote, have multiple consequences - some desirable and others not so. The effect on the buyer is generally positive assuming he is the best judge of whether it's worth the money to him. The purchase also has a short term positive effect on the workers - say in China. It however encourages the Chinese system which we disapprove of.

I was gonna get this thing. But #1 actually kinda moved me,despite his lack of eloquence. I just gave $200 to Haiti. I'll get a cheaper harmony.

It just made me think-- when was the last time i really gave?

#1 Why are you shopping on a deal website then? Did you post just to call the kettle black?

There isn't a human on earth that isn't a slave to commodities. We all need a commodity of food air and water. If you think those don't count then how about clothes and shelter.

As for "American over indulgence", which country doesn't over indulge? The people in other countries like china and Haiti are only limited in their indulgence because the dissemination of wealth is far less equal then in the USA.

Haiti is on the continent of North America btw, making them American...Those over indulging bastards.

If you need a remote that costs more than a few bucks, you need to get off your fat ass and go outside to breath real air.
