Seriously? That remote needs to wash my car and scrub my shower at that price.

Oh wait, it has RF? Never mind, I'll take two.

I'd buy this, but I have more devices than that.

I have the Logitech 1000 (the previous model of this one).

Are there a lot of improvements? Is it worth it for the upgrade?

#3 yes! they added hundreds more devices and they say button presses are now 7% faster than the old version! Of course this does cost more than most peoples TV's.
On a serious note, I doubt there is enough new in this to justify moving up from the 1000.
Like #1 said, this would have to do ALOT more than just control my stuff around the house. If it came with a remote control hover chair then I'm buying one!

Can these Harmony remotes be used on PC's or HTPC's?

#5, yes. All of the harmony remotes should work. I use my Harmony 880 with my laptop and homebuilt HTPC running Vista MC or 7MC.

My take on why this is so expensive is to make their other expensive remotes look inexpensive.

#5: I couldn't teach my Harmony 800 series to learn my IR keyboard commands. My old Sony Remote Commander could do that. Lame.

#1, this version does not include the RF extender:

    Quote:
When used with the Harmony RF Extender (sold separately), the Harmony 1100 helps you control devices that you keep behind closed doors

I recently updated my software and firmware for my Harmony 880 and now I am unable to upload macros and custom sequences to the remote. Could be a bug, but I hope it's not Logitech removing features of older models.
