Is this the best price/value Logitech remote? Has anyone come up with a better one?

I've only seen it cheaper on sites like Woot.com for $50, and it usually disappears fast.

The woot deal was also a refurb.

I own this model. Had it over a year.
I have a Panasonic TV, Onkyo AV, Samsung DVD player, and Verizon Fios set top DVR.
I NEVER have to touch another remote.
This does everything the original remotes did.

Woot garbage(and it has been garbage lately) ALWAYS ends up on other sites the next day for about 20% more. I don't know who they are affiliated with but their stuff always ends up somewhere else for a higher price after it is on woot.

#4, Actually, The way it works is... Woot is actually just a part of a wholesale electronics sales company. What they do is, Woot gets a product, and they offer the product to a bunch of companies that they've done business with for a long time. Then what ever they have left they woot away for less than what they sold it to all the resellers for in the first place, there by bone'ing the hell out of a lot of little resellers.

this is a good remote, but I feel I've got to warn would be buyers of this. This particular remote is HELL to set up! IF you can actually get it to set up, it works great. I however, have changed my home theatre setup 3 times, and now on the 3rd time, I can't even get the damn thing to turn my TV on and off correctly. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it acts like it turns it on, and it actually doesn't. The remote is a great idea, don't get me wrong. It's only good though when it works 100% of the time.

For anyone wondering, all my components are supposed to be supported, but it can't do such a simple task as turning my TV on and off as I would like.

I have owned one of these for years. I too have changed my theater components numerous times and have had no issues reconfiguring the functions of the remote. Recommended.

this remote (unlike the newer Harmony's) doesn't have the "next" and "prev" buttons. So for example, my DVR has a "skip" (e "next") button that I use to skip past commercials. With the 659 you would have to map these keys to another button or place them as a "soft" key.

#7 though i appreciate your comment - I think you got a bad rub w/ your devices, if you have common equiptment or are used to sync ups with accessories it really isnt much of a problem.

I have a 520 it has to be the most wicked universal remote I have ever used - bar none. I didnt understand why they wanted so damn much until I played with one. I have 8 completely random devices and they are all controlled well.

One word of caution though, dont break it. I had to get mine replaced under warranty, it has only been 3 1/2 weeks, with 5 phone calls to badger them, and two emails including one heated flame threating to never purchase from them again. And the replacement is STILL on its way.....sigh

#9, on my DVR, the default set up is for the Next and Prev buttons to be mapped to the LCD screen. I did not have to remap it.

This remote does everything. I had to call Harmony once and they programmed it over the phone to solve and issue of switching from AV to Component video but other than that everything was easy.

Good to know, I just like a hard key, thus the reason I went with the 520 instead of this one. Also it is nice to have the FF and Skip Keys close to each other.
