This thing has saved me from remote hell...works with everything I own, except my RF lighting control-- and I didn't want to spend the cash to get an RF-compatible remote.
Their DB of remote codes is expansive; my air conditioner was even in there. Sometimes buttons are mapped incorrectly, but you can tweak them manually in the software.
Nice.
They had codes to work functions the original remotes couldn't do.
For example, the remote for my Samsung TV made you cycle through inputs but I was able to program my 880 to switch directly to the desired input. It has codes for uncommon devices like my IO-Data AVeLlinkplayer 2.
An additional plus is their customer service. They helped a klutz like me get the thing programmed to control the home theater nuances--in a language I understand. Great to click "Play a Movie" and have all the right devices fire-up.
Only glitch with my various set-ups is that if my ReplayTV has recorded something on auto, then shut itself down, I need to re-sync it with the Logitech (by simply operating it to "on" manually).
Your Shorties will truly appreciate this thing...
Be careful w/ this one if u have a DVR. Transport controls are on the bottom.
Like #2 Krusty, I bought in on the 676 sale a couple weeks ago and was able to get my DVD player to use a "resume" feature where the DVD player picked up where it left off. My original remote never did that. Pretty cool stuff.
I have this remote and it is awesome. It is truly easy to set this up.
