Great little notebook mouse. Had one for a year, works flawlessly, easy on batteries.

Might as well patronize RS whenever they gave a good bacon-it keeps them open in your neighborhood.

I also use it with a notebook but be aware it has the larger receiver, not the flash drive-sized dongle. Also the standby feature works, but my battery life is more like three months.

This is the worst mouse logitech currently makes. Most logitech mice are great but this breaks from that trend.

Old style 27MHz corded receiver with shorter range

Invisible light optical system tracks worse than even red LED type used years ago.

Bulbous shape with sharper slope means awkward wrist position unless mousing surface is lower than usual.

Battery hatch on top doesn't fit as well as most Logitech mice, a little loose on the part you use to push the mouse.

Silver paint wears off the buttons.

Frankly if it didn't have the logitech branding it looks and works like some cheap generic mouse. It's only redeeming qualities are that it's cheap, and fairly gentle on batteries. Contrary to what #2 observed, a typical use should not drain the batteries in less than 6 months, and their claim of life was more than that.

However these days given good, low self discharge NiMH like Sanyo Eneloops or Rayovac Hybrids, it is of less concern how fast it drains batteries so long as it's not pitifully fast like on the old MX700 series which couldn't even run for longer than a few days before it had to be recharged.
