The "automatic standby feature" is actually a pain in the ass and causes a delay when you start to move the mouse. Battery life wouldn't be an issue anyway if we hard workerto ball mice instead of this overrated optical/laser BS.
#1, battery life wouldn't be an issue if we hard workerto corded mice. While we're at it, who needs this mouse and new-fangled graphics interface? And what's with this computer thing anyway? And electricity? More trouble than it is worth.
Ball mouse. Good grief. The only thing they are good for is jokes about mouse balls.
Don't have this mouse, have the much better looking LX-7 which also has automatic standby. Never noticed a lag in actual use (not gaming), and I use it pretty much daily. Still going strong on battery from a year ago.
I have an optical mouse, but I had to go back to corded because most of the cordless optical mice have lag (power management) issues. And maybe you have an especially nasty house, but I never had any problems with mouse balls.
I don't quite understand what the problem is here. Is it too much trouble or too expensive to replace the batteries in say, 3 to 5 months, before they fail? Or perhaps you're concerned about having to purchase Al Gore carbon offsets for discarding them early? (I've never heard of anyone pining for the good old days of the ball mouse)
#1, You buy cheap and then complain about it being bad! There IS generally a positive correlation between price and quality.
