Look carefully - it may be wireless and USB, but it's the oldest version that still uses the hockey-puck receiver (rather than a dongle). Not suitable for laptops at all.
Yeah, reception range is short, and it has a poor response non-laser tracking engine that has a lot of lag to it in order to reach the long battery life.
Also the top (battery) cover is ill-fitting and makes it feel like a cheap generic mouse, it is easily the worse fit on any logitec mouse I've owned for years.
Then again, it's only 9 bucks for a cordless mouse so as always buying higher up the food chain has its rewards. Might be a good backup mouse to leave in a drawer in case of emergency.
Yeah, I'd say it's a cheap price for a good mouse. The battery life is long, and it's just has regular optical capabilities (none of the fancy laser stuff). The receiver, though, is unnecessarily big. Still, I think to get something better, you would be paying at least twice this price.
