Best Buy has the Logitech M705 Wireless Laser Marathon Mouse for $30 with free in store pickup or $5 shipping. Features a three year battery life, which is maybe why they call it a Marathon mouse.
I got the M510 for $19.99 two days ago from Office Depot. It is regular $39.99 on sale for $29.99 until 9/25. I used the printable $10 off $25 coupon, good until 9/26, from the OD website. The coupon is good on technology products, which they usually aren't. Also saw the V220 mouse for $14.99 at Target where OD wants $29.99 for it.
Mice like these tend to conserve battery life by going into a low power mode quite soon after last movement has stopped, introducing a tiny lag that some users will find annoying.
Personally I don't see the need for any mouse to run for more than about 6 months now that we have good LSD NiMH like Sanyo Eneloops.
However, people who like lightweight mice might appreciate the fact that most of Logitech's (newer generation) 2 x AA mice run the batteries in parallel, meaning it doesn't have to have both installed, that if it gets 3 years from 2 x AA, it should get 1.5 years from one AA, or about 7 months from one AAA with a metal shim to extend the length to fit. That might cut the weight of the mouse in half.
Free shipping is not an option. The only way to avoid the $10 shipping charge is to pick it up in the store.
