I read that logitech is taking a bath on these things and losing millions. Apparently, the returns are outpacing the sales. Not sure what's making people return them but page says "ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL, NON-CANCELABLE AND NON-REFUNDABLE, EXCEPT AS SPECIFIED IN THE APPLICABLE RETURNS POLICY.:
The reason it's a dead product because the networks are not allowing this device to work with their content. Google has no clue to how to conduct business in a world where everything requires licensing and negotiating content rebroadcast or royalties.
Well the reason networks are blocking this device is because the Chrome web browser presents it's platform as Google TV.
If they updated it to just be a generic chrome browser (say linux), the networks would have no way to block it. And they should not be able to block it! Chrome running on android linux that happens to be on a google tv platform should not be any different than Chrome running on a linux box that is plugged into a tv.
