Still kind of pricey....
what is so special about it?
reminds me of the turtle beach / gateway music player a few years back. And what does this thing do again for the sale price of 1G....No thanks.
This is what Bill G has in his $50 million house.
I'll hold out for the dented box version that logitech peddles often for other products, though there are only so many would be stupid enough to buy this so they probably won't have many available.
Bargain? ....ummm, no.
Besides the crazy price, it's best to avoid anything with fluorescent displays... they have a finite lifespan and will inevitably fail if some other component doesn't send it to the trash bin first... but other components are often replaceable or repairable. Custom fluorescent displays not so much.
This is an audiophile grade network music player. The A/D chip on this is about $375 by itself. It's not for most people, but it is the best price I've seen on this unit.
That seems hard to believe, what A/D chip is it?
An AK4396.
AK4396 costs $4.95 each, or $2.31 in quantities of 1,000 or more, and even that is high because it is through Digikey instead of the manufacturer (middleman markup).
