Logitech has the Logitech Transporter SE: Network Music Player for $1300 - $300 off with coupon code logi_tse_72111 [Exp 7/24] = $1000 with free shipping. Features dual fluorescent displays, backlit infrared remote and support for rack mount brackets.
dual fluorescent displays... in about 10 years they'll have failed making it a paperweight. Granted, all the youngsters out there are thinking 10 years is a long time but 10 years from now you'll still listen to music and have a networked computer, right?
#2: This is not audiophile kind of product- No manufacture will expect you use it for 10 years. They will come out newer/better standard and newer product with faster better performance. That will force consumer to retire the old ones and get the new one. That's how electronic manufacture survived.
Two years ago I paid $2000 for this (or its predecessor) and I love it. My CDs now sound so much better. You ought to have good speakers and an excellent pre-amp and amp for this though. My CDs now sound as smooth as LPs or even better. My amp and pre-amp are VTL and my speakers are Innersound Eros. Although I am out a $1000 but I got to use it for two years. If you listen to classical music or even Jazz, you owe to yourself to get this especially at this low price... Better get the Duet, too or control it with your Android cellphone.
Just got a networked receiver for less than half the price. Not sure this commands that price...

I was waiting for this deal and ended up buying a squeezebox touch instead. Very happy so far so hopefully I did myself a favor.
