A few years ago I bought a rather expensive Logitech Ipod speaker system that failed within weeks. Logitech told me to cut off the cord and send it along with the remote and they would replace it. They sent me an email thanking me for returning the parts and informing me that the replacement was on indefinite back order. When I asked for an estimated ship time, I was told "we already told you it was on indefinite back order". It was months before I saw a replacement, even though it was showing in stock at the Logitech store the entire time. Of coarse the whole time I never knew if it would be months, years, or never. Imagine if you spent 1000 bucks on this and were given the same answer and quality of service.

I have had a Squeezebox classic that's been going on 5 years. Wouldn't trade it for anything. The most surprising thing is the software is still getting updated and most recently the apps for Android that i downloaded works perfectly. Squeezebox is still it's own operation even though it's part of the larger Logitech brand. Their support is not the same.
