Well, learn something new everyday. Perhaps its in the programming, but as you can see the other mid range DAC units are about the same price.
Still, my main argument is not that it's not overpriced. I don't have one of these and won't buy one, but just like whatever magic they put into one set of speaker and charge $8,000 a pair vs. another that charge $400 a pair, or even better yet the Ayre BD player rebadging the Oppo and selling it for $5,000
