How does it compare to the Microsoft one that is similar (optical 3000) I can get 2 of these for the price of the microsoft one! Seems like a great deal.

This one doesn't contain the extra button that I found very convenient and allow me to return to previous page in IE browser. How do people normally do the return to previous page, without having to move the mouse and click the return button on the upper left IE screen?

#7, thanks very much. I guess rclick+b means right click mouse and then select "back"? It is only slight better than moving mouse to click the IE back button. Smile
I wish there is another backspace button on the left side of the keyboard when my right hand is holding the mouse. Smile

Just got back from target, thanks for the heads up! I already bought a couple for gifts, but since they weren't wrapped and I had the receipt, I saved $20 and got different colors. Great way to start my sunday.

I have this mouse. A few notes... the scroll wheel "middle click" is pretty loud and requires a little more force than most mice I've used. You get used to it and it's not a flaw really. The scroll wheel itself is pretty loud too, I don't really care though.

I use mouse gestures for forward/back on Firefox, rocker gestures or right click + move the mouse to the left.

$20 for the v450 at Circuit City this week. The micro receiver may be worth the extra $10. Laser as well.

#6, if you don't use the mouse wheel's tilt feature to scroll left/right, you might map tilt-left/tilt-right to back/forward. I've done something similar. I use tilt-right for "back" and tilt-left for "cruise down" on my V220.

#16, what are the tilt feature of a mouse? How do you use the tilt feature? I use the center wheel to scroll up and down only.

#17, The V220's wheel also clicks left and right. Notice the little arrows stenciled on the mouse to the left and right sides of the wheel. Default function is to scroll pages left and right if a page is too wide to view on one screen, but you can reassign to other functions. You'll probably need to install Logitech's driver if you have not yet installed it.

EDITed to add: Once you get to the tab in the driver configuration that allows you to reassign the button functions, you will be presented with a few default choices to reassign to a button. If you don't like any of the default choices, choose "other" and you'll have several more options from which to choose. As I recall, "back" is the option you are looking for. "Back" was listed as a choice for wheel-left, but I wanted to assign it to wheel-right and it wasn't listed as one of Logitech's defaults for wheel-right. I had to select it from "other". The 4th and 5th buttons are wheel-left and wheel-right in the version of the Logitech driver that I'm running.

Thanks to all, I see now. However, I don't have a V220 (went to local Target but all V220 were sold out). I think most other mice's scroll wheels don't support the scroll left & right feature, so it won't work on other mice. I actually use a Logitech MX310 that has extra two buttons for back & forth page jumping. I was just wondering if there were other method that come close to the dedicated thumb button approach.
