      I bought the previous model - X-530 - a few years ago and have been pleased with them. I'd imagine they've only improved since then. One improvement I can see clearly is they added a remote whereas the model I have the controls are on one of the front speakers.

      I'd recommend this set to anyone that needs some good, inexpensive computer speakers. However, I'm pretty sure you can buy this from other sites for the same or less and not have to pay tax.

      can this be used on a 5.1 sound card and having surround sound when watching dvd movies?

      I have these. Very nice speakers, for gaming or anything that requires surround sound.
      paid $30 for them last august or so.

      only cons:
      1) rear speaker wires not long enough, still looking for RCA extensions...
      2) volume is not that high. Its loud enough for a single bedroom though.
