Best Buy has the Logitech Z515 Wireless Rechargeable Speaker for $60 with free in-store pickup or shipping to home (currently backordered 1 to 2 weeks). Features 3W of total power, dual 2" drivers, aux input, 10 hour batter life, and includes a soft travel case.
^ Well, since the source is typically going to have a volume control, the feature isn't really needed. With a wired setup you'd have higher SNR to keep the source at max volume then adjust volume at the amp'd speaker but with a wireless setup it wouldn't matter much (in theory).
Note: Item is backordered, it appears you can still buy it now at the sale price w/free S/H but the ETA is 08/05-08/19/2011
logitech had these a few weeks ago for 50 bucks! bought one and it is definitely worth it! gave new life to my 5 year old lg env phone because it plays the music it holds. One thing though, don't expect premium sound out of this, descent sound at best, but in exchange for conveniece? it is a winner.
Good speaker for travelling. Logitech has a Bluetooth version which still enables non-bluetooth machines to connect to it via dongle. The BT version is really handy for a picnic or something since smart/app phones will work with it.
This also comes with a 3.5mm line in port, so you can just connect it via wire. Sound is without Bass, but it's good. Audiophiles should head over to Amazon and look up 'Supertooth'
"Volume control
Lets you adjust the volume to your liking."
A speaker that allows you to adjust the volume?! What will they come up with next?
