Ends 12/7. Dell Business has the Logitech Z-523 2.1 Omnidirectional Speaker System for $50 with free shipping. Features 40-watts RMS power, down-firing 6.5" subwoofer, dual RCA jack, 3.5mm audio line-in, 3.5 headphone jack.
I was deciding between the z2300s and these and ultimately went with these on a dented box deal from Logitech for I think the same $50 price. I don't have the z2300s to compare to but I am not disappointed with these at all. I don't think the "omnidirectional" system works as well as it claims to but these certainly produce some powerful sound for the low price. And this is probably the lowest price they will go to. Worth the buy for sure.
I bought these last year at the holidays to simply give my LCD tv a boost when playing the Wii and PS3. They do a great job in my opinion as the sound is so much richer with the additional bass. It gives super M.ario an entirely different feel. Lots of fun with these actually and my tv will also allow me to use its speakers at the same time; which is an added bonus for whatever they are worth lol. I have no knowledge of the z2300's, but I imagine this deal cannot be beat as the sound is very impressive for the price. If the z2300's are more expensive, then I would consider how much more sound they put out than the z523 and consider the room size in which you will be using them. I'm using these z523 in a 12 x 18 foot room and there's plenty of sound and bass.
I am listening to these speakers as I am writing this little note and they sound beautiful for the money (I paid around $50 on a dented box from Logitech). I have hooked them up to my Mac Pro and they blend well with my monitor. I have positioned the sub behind the monitor. The the intensity of the bass can be adjusted from the lower knob on the left speaker. The volume control is not as smooth as it could be at lower volume levels as it abruptly goes to dead from some audible db level. But, this is not a big issue. I believe the speakers sound good for the money and I am not disappointed with my purchase.
