I'm not sure what's going on at MC but I think they are trying to clear out the older models to make room for the newer ones. Whatever the reason, $799.99 NIB beats $899.00 refurb. any day! Happy Shopping folks!

Snow Leopard has poor reviews. Better stick with 10.5 and wait for another release.

agreed #3, I'm sticking with 10.5 for at least another 6 months, by then hopefully bugs will be worked out and I'll consider upgrading. The difference betweend leopard and snow leopard are minimal anyway so I'm in no rush.

too bad this is a refurbish deal. #4 you are right Snow Leopard is no Leopard. That expensive service pack has me wishing I had updated.

I have never seen an apple refurb that I could tell was not 100% brand new.

#2 that one you were referring to is not the same model number. The one from MC is the white not aluminum version.

The refurb price is excellent but this is from 2008! I paid 1200 for mine a month ago from amazon which was the MB990LL/A 2009 version.

This model doesn't have as good a battery life as the newer ones... do your research!

#7, worse battery life, but tool-less battery swapping and single screw HD swapping. That said, the screen's not as good as the new one, and this is the only aluminum Apple laptop without Firewire.
