TOTALLY AGREE! Ihave never been able to understand the allure of Job's cult of personality. "Here's my BRAND-NEW iPhone, with technology that's only been around for 8 years! Pay a premium for it!" The slop that Mac fanboys will slurp up without question is beyond me. Granted I like the iPhone and own one-they do have a few notable exceptions to the "not worth the money" rule, but to pay these sort of prices for a small laptop???

The illuminated keyboard adds an extra $700 to the price.

There's a typo in the specs..bacon's not an "illuminated" keyboard, it's an "illuminati" keyboard.

Pressing the correct sequence of keys reveals the location of the Holy Grail.

Still expensive, I rather get a netbook for $300. All I do with laptop/desktop is browsing, nothing else.

      #3,

Its usability Smile if its even a word. MS got their hand on the mobile market and version after version for a decade its still extremely user unfriendly. iphone first release trump winmobile so bad that manufacturers (ex: HTC with touchflow) start copying iPhone interface skin over the darn Win mobile.

I have never been an Apply fan since they has always been overprice to me (except I have to use Apple computer in high school and college project. Apple II+ for high school project and Mac for college programs).

I have own many many PDAs now only have 2 left collecting dust. They're the Dell Axim50 and HP Ipaq 24xx series (still use to backup remote controllers and as a remote but rarely)-now I have my iPhone which got all my PDA needs cover and more (voip, internet, universal remote, games). iPhone is just overall a much better experience.

I think the $1200 price is a better deal compare with a 8G Touch, you can get one for $200, so it's not really free.

I got an Acer Aspire One for $200 and installed Leopard on it, works like a charm. Only 1024x600 pixels, 1.5GB RAM maximum, and sleep doesn't work, but it's 1/6th the price of a MacBook Air... and great to travel with.

do not get this item. I own a Macbook and I'm really disappointed with all the issues I had with it. It would be cheaper to get two Vista laptops for the price of a Mac.

#7, no one denies it's a great laptop. Just an awful price... and it's an apple.
