Any good as a starter GPS?

For #1: Have seen several over the last couple of weeks that have test-to-speech at this price. That's a very useful feature.
I bought a refurb. Magellan Roadmate from NewEgg months ago and still like it. Looked new and included an AC charger, also useful.

Sorry for the typo. That should be "text-to-speech", of course.

This is an entry unit, and people have some problems with bugs. Get one with text to speech - pronounces street names, I do not think this one does.

This is a pretty good price for a basic GPS. I agree with #4 text to speech is awesome.
