Great to keep in the car. Light might not be that bright, but makes a handly weapon in a pinch.

Got this a couple of weeks ago...extremely bright light....check out the reviews....best $24 I ever spent...Mag finally woke up and got competitive in the high-intensity flashlight market.

Now if only Sanyo made D sized Eneloops instead of Eneloop Lites and Eneloop glitter wrapper edition. Then again, 2 x 2 packs of D sized Eneloops would probably cost more than the flashlight does, then you need a charger...

Supposedly 134 lumens, which seems far more accurate than most generics' ratings, but not a lot of light for something this size, gaining runtime instead.

I have yet to own a Maglite that lasts past 1 battery change. Worst design ever - the batteries are guaranteed to get stuck inside.

i don't know about this maglite (not a fan of the club-size flashlights because c and d cells are expensive compared to aa and aaa and i never use the oversized flashlight enough to get my money's worth out of the batteries before they die/expire; maybe if i was police/security and carried it around on me 8 hours a day i would be more apt to use it), but i've owned a few maglites over the last 25 years and i'm impressed with the xl200 i've had for the last year.

it was originally $50-60 online and ben advertised a place that had it for $35, so i snatched it up and it's been the best and brightest flash light i've ever had. it uses 3 aaa batteries, which i've used eneloops even when camping for 4 days / 3 nights (just make sure they're full charged before you leave and bring a set of spares just in case). the biggest feature is the brightness control, as it not only allows you to best adjust the light (dim inside a house or tent full of sleeping people or full brightness trying to spot wildlife outside some distance away), it also saves the batteries.

it's also held up well, though i recently scratched the plastic lens with a screw driver head while working under the dash of my auto. i can't see the scratch affect/refract the light when shone on a wall, but i know it can't be good for it and i wonder if it would be better as glass instead of plastic (though that would probably break when dropped and the flashlight has stood being accidentally dropped hard on dirt, hard wood, tile, & concrete floors a few times without any problems).

now to think about it, the only problem i ever had with my older/original maglites were that the bulbs would frequently break and were expensive to replace, but the bodies and the beam adjustment mechanism held up well.
