A refurbished Magnavox, wow! Is $980 shipped what they pay me to take it off their hands?

Yes I now have 2 refurbs from them. 1 Mag 42" 1080P and 1 Philips 47" 1080P. The 42" set is amazing, I could not be happier with it. It's been working since Nov 07. It gets used about 1-2 hours a night. The Philips 47" on the other hand is giving me audio problems. Nothing would come out of the speakers. So I tried to call Philips for their warranty, but they gave me attitude. I just did not want to deal with the customer service because I have it connected to a receiver so I figured it was not worth the time. I've had that one for about 2-3 months.

With the good price points, I would definately take a gamble with them. Oh I forgot to mention that my parent's bought a 47" Philips 1080P as well during Nov. 07 and it has been working beatifully for them. I just got a bad a apple, but who buys a nice TV without having a receiver anyways. Hope this helps anyone considering purchasing this set.

Remember, ALL SALES FINAL from Philips Outlet. If your unit is bad, you have to send it out for repairs. NO RETURNS.

If you're even considering this, you should think about just getting a Visio at your local Costco.

no Visio is crap..... Also this is a 1080P for less than $1000 not including taxes. I have 6. I have a 30" Philips LCD ($695), 2 37" Plasma's ($560), 1 42" ($675), and 2 47" 1080P ($750)... all refurb no real issues other then on one 37" you can't see the sound bar but that is it. Get the refurb if you want you are going to take a chance even if you bought at Bestbuy or Circuit City, that's why they sell extended service plans. Sometimes you are going to get a bad product. More than likely you refurb should work. It's been tested for the second time but sometimes they just don't work. Eagle or that new company whatever they call are delivering. Have your outlet and cable ready and make them wait while you take it out the box and test it yourself. If it doesn't work then have them take it right back....I did it with another 42" I bought. No worries.

If items from Philips Outlet arrive DOA you pay shipping to them for repair and wait about a month or so to get it back...Don't think I want to try my luck or wallet on them...

Having to pay shipping to repair a TV is ridiculous. Probably better to just go to Costco and pay a bit more than to gamble.
