    Crap! I still have a lot of CF-based embedded boards sitting around, and could use a sub-$1/gig solution.

    Adding the $15 CF-to-SD adapter and just using cheap SD is starting to look attractive, but further posts of actual CF cards would be appreciated.

    How come we don't get same price as SD? what is still making CF so pricey?

    Probably more expensive because they aren't produced on the scale of SD.
    I got rid of my last CF-based camera years ago. SD is so much more convenient and keeps the device smaller too.

    I believe CF cards have circuitry that emulates a HDD and can come in speeds rivaling real magnetic drives. There are still applications for which CF is a preferable technology. That being said, the law of supply and demand applies here, as always.
