Of course, the 3.0 gb/s is misleading as no hard drive will move that fast. That just means the SATA cable is capable of that speed. Expect under 100 mb/s, usually around 50 mb/s as top transfer speed for a platter hard drive.
#1 many newer hard drives have 90 MB/s+ STR. Also, 3.0Gb/s allows for faster burst rates.
Bus speed works at that speed with cache. Would better with higher cache size.
