Wow that's cool. 25GB is very good size for backing up digital photos and such. How much are burners going for these days? I'll wait.

I would buy this rather than the 50-pack DVD DL.

100 DVDs for $20 = 450 gigs or 4.4 cents per gig. 15 Blue Rays for $45 = 375 gigs or 12 cents per gig. DVDs still a little cheaper, even for the inconvenience of using more discs.

Memorex DL 50 for $30 = 425 gigs or 7.05 cents per gig.

Can you burn regular movies onto these? If so, is the quality any better/noticeable?

It would be a waste to burn regular movies onto these, this does seem like a pretty good deal though if you have a BR burner.

I guess this is a decent deal for those who want to burn BR discs, but how many computer come standard with BR readers? Would probably be worth it for data backup, but most computers don't have the capability of reading it.

    To answer a few questions:

You can rip a movie on to these if you have a Blue Ray burner.

If you burn a regular movie onto these it will be the same quality as the original movie.

It is very easy to install a Blue Ray burner on a PC, but they cost close to $200. They will come down in price and so will the writable media, but it may take a year or 2.

#4 I saw you put some work into your comment, but it's the dumbest one I've seen all month.

#13 yes and no. I don't have experience with blue-ray, but with DvDs if you want to play it on a standard player, you're going to have to use some form of software to convert the movies into a readable format (ISO for example). Just copying them straight over will give you a data disk that isn't necessarily readable by most players.
