eBay with KK Music Store has the Mendini Violin (all sizes, 7 colors) with Case Bundle for $55 with free shipping. Includes a book/dvd, case, bow, extra strings, and shoulder rest.
Got one last August from this same store on ebay for around $80 for my friend. I play cello and I was going to see the quality of her violin before deciding if I should get a cello from that ebay store.
My expectation is not high at all. I've read and heard people saying that any decent entry level cello should be at least $1k, but I'm not gonna drop that much money on something I only play occasionally. I'd be happy if it sounds like the ones I played in high school. With that said, the Mendini violin sounds like a toy. It looks ok, but weighs a lot less than those high school provided ones, and my friend told me it sounds worse than the high school ones too. Accessories look decent, just the violin itself sounds crappy. My friend even got the more expensive version that says the inlay purfling is not painted on (that black decorative outline along the side). But it looks to me it's drawn on because at some spots it looks smeared.
I don't think this is a good deal.. if you're willing to spend even a hundred more you'd get a much better quality violin off craigslist.
(By the way I got a Vivace cello from someone on craigslist. It was almost new and I got it for $250. I'm happy with it, definitely not a toy like the Medini violin.)
Along with being a cage fighter, I'm the conductor of an amateur all girl harmonica band. I've been looking for a deal for a bulk discount of harmonica storage cases but haven't found any deals in any of the Internet deal searches I've tried...
The girls in my band sure know how to blow a mouth organ so well and can create such sweet tunes I kind'a feel like I should get something for their masterful work in order to show my appreciation. A nice storage case for their mouth organs seems to be a nice way to say thank you for blowing me such sweet tunes for all these years... and to think I met most of the girls in my band though Craigslist where they were willing to perform for flowers...
