Well I do know that people have attempted to utilize this with the HP Touchpad, but unfortunately the HDMI isn't fully connected (not sure if its hardware or software.)
it's a micro usb cable that converts your phone's micro usb into an HDMI cable. You will need to have an additional micro usb charger plugged into this adapter and also the HDMI into a monitor or TV for it to run. you can display your phone onto a big screen. I've ran Netflix on my phone and displayed on a 1080p 50" screen. works well, with no lag.
how do u have an additional micro usb charger plugged into the adapter? one end goes to the phone and the other is connected to the hdmi cable. how did u connect the charger?
the only 2 things that makes sense to me is it would use a driver (provided or built into an OS) to create essentially a USB video device output, that it allows adding an HDMI monitor or TV over USB.
It shouldn't need an external power input for that, USB power should be enough.
The other possibility is it's a bit like a USB to RJ45 extension cable type adapter that simply allows using a (longer than USB spec allows for a USB cable) network cable for long USB runs, but using HDMI cable instead of ethernet cable, where you would have a 2nd adapter on the other end to convert the signal back to USB.
Bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. Used with my Samsung Galaxy S2 on vacation to play movies through my friend's projector. Needed the phone plugged into power for it to work.
doesnt the galaxy have only one connection slot which is the micro usb port. how did u plug the phone in for power if the microusb was being used by the hdmi
@Wayno, I have the same question as jetsfan24. Does this adapter come with another port to hook up the charger? Its not clear enough but looking at the included image, it does show that it has that extra female microusb port for charging.
Anybody know what this does?

Now if there were only a doughnut to HDMI adapter... then I could hook my @$$ up to my HDTV

My DSLR camera has a micro usb too, I can see where this might be useful for that too.

It does show that it has an extra female micro usb port, which I assume you should be able to use for charging.
