Best Buy has the Microsoft GMF-00010 Mobile Mouse 3500 Geode for $12 with free in-store pickup or $5 shipping to home. Promises to work with almost any surface, which almost sounds like a dare. Time to test it out on a clear glass desk.

Tried it on liquid surface, does not work.
Tried it on some dog poo, does not work.
Logitech M305 a couple of dollars more and has free shipping to home.
#2 Depends on the age; 'works sometimes.
This mouse is cool,but a little expensive.
Have used about 3 or 4 of these over time and they are my favorite. Does not work well on clear glass or a very shiny surface.
