For 30 dollars this mouse has everything and more. I replaced my Logitech G5 with this and have zero complaints. This is a great mouse for people who move not with their wrists but their fingers.

#2 is on crack. For people that move the mouse with their fingers, get a low profile ambi, lightest laser mouse you can find. The HP deal ben posted a couple weeks ago for -$4 AR is absolutely ideal for this (after you take the steel weight out). Bulbous side-buttoned mice are best fully palmed and moved with your wrist. Perhaps for #2, it's the best combination of still having other features, mice are very subjective but if the criteria includes finger movements, it's not particularly optimized for it.

#2, assuming you're a standard human being, your fingers are part of your hand.

considering the msrp of $80 or something bogus like that, i'd say this is a decent deal as long as you can find something else to buy along with it.

this mouse basically has every feature you could ever need, period. exchangeable feet, adjustable weight, buttons to spare, and on the fly dpi switching.

yes, it also has features you DONT need, such as an lcd display telling you your dpi or "on the fly macro recording". does anybody actually use that?

the mouse is pretty good once you give it a go. honestly, when i bought mine i purchased it because i figured if it was this hideous it has to be good. i still think it's hideous, but it has well exceeded all of my expectations.

anyone claiming an mx518 or a g5 is better than this mouse has never given this mouse a try or has hands the size of a preteen girl (it is a bit on the larger side). and by try i mean actually use it for a week or two (possibly three if you're used to index/middle on the left/right clicks). the vertical buttons take some time to get used to, but the layout definitely makes more sense than the horizontal layout most mice make use of.

this mouse is definitely better than an mx518 or a g5. and at $30 (the price of a used / refurbed g5/mx518), this is a steal. i think the g9 is better, but only because it's not as ugly and it has the exchangeable grips. oh yeah and the software is a bit better (logitech has been writing gaming software for mice for a long time)

as for #2, i don't really understand what he's saying, but the mouse is rather large and also pretty heavy (even without any weights) so you probably won't be able to use it like a normal mouse. but once you get used to it you will soon realize just how great of a mouse it is.

I would probably buy this for $30 even if it is OEM. Many etailers sell this package and don't insist that you add any hardware item as per Microsoft instructions? But to have to add another hardware item and pay around $9 to ship it is crazy. So these guys have attracted people to their site and perhaps fooled some into paying for shipping a $1 item.
Also they mention that they can substitute another model if need be. Also by buying OEM you normally just get the mouse in a plastic bag, no extras! See Amazon site and reviews for details.
In the end I decided to pay more for the retail pack and the 'Gamer' version which is what I want.
Lastly Microsoft are launching a new model soon so they are probably unloading the earlier models.

got the logitech G15 gaming keyboard $65 with it free shipping, I have been wanting to get this keyboard for a month now and got it too instead of paying $9 for shipping on a 99 cent mousepad with it. This keyboard is $80 even at Newegg.

#13, most gamers and reviews seem to disagree with you. The mx518 and g5 are excellent mice and have a form factor that many prefer (assuming you are not left handed). I tried this mouse and hated it, prolonged use made my hand hurt, so I was not going to give it a two to three weeks.

#18: I may not be a "gamer" anymore since I only get like 20 hours a week in nowadays, but I think that my Sidewinder is quite acceptable. Granted, I haven't used a G5, but I had an MX510 and while I liked the form factor it just wasn't anything special.

Really for me it comes down to the vertical side buttons. They just make a lot more sense due to the way that I hold the mouse. On the MX series I never really used the forward mouse button, just the back one, so I wasn't getting the full value of the mouse. Now I can use those buttons and I think that it really helps in games w/ more functions than just point and shoot (like the BF games with their squad leader controls and instant nades).
