#1, bear in mnd, too, that if my motherboard "goes bad", and needs to be replaced, the nice people in politicians, that answer the after hours phones for Microsoft, will usually let you re-activate your old version, once you assure them that it's only on that one computer.
Bear in mind that it also cannot be transferred to a new mobo. So if you plan to upgrade your mobo, you will need to purchase a new copy of Windows.

I've had to do that once and they don't really give you a lot of grief about it. It's just a pain to have to call them.
