#9 is right. Most companies, even larger ones, never moved from XP to Vista and they're very slow to "upgrade" to 7. For a lot of people Windows 7 isn't necessarily worth it yet. I never thought I'd say this, but MS just made XP too good somehow, at least compared to its lackluster subsequent releases.

Short response: There's no rush to go to 7 if you're using XP.

#14 - Do your research before spouting first. It "might" make you look a bit more intelligent.

#9 Do your research about the legitimacy. I did.

And yes, Win 7 is a big improvement over XP. I did not upgrade to Vista as it was too buggy. So I went from XP to Win 7.

For those who don't know any better. #23 bought a MSDN key. Basically you can sign up for MSDN for as cheap as $300. With a subscription you are allowed to "evaluate" almost all Windows products all the way back to early DOS. Included of course is Windows 7. Each subscription allows I believe 20 keys to be generated. So basically people buy a subscription then sell the keys. They keys are legitimate, but are for evaluation. Part of the agreement is that if your subscription to MSDN ever ends, you remove the evaluation software. People say they continue to work though. Also MSDN was never meant to be sold, so in a way they are "illegal." In my opinion it's more a matter of ethics.

Limitation of such keys are supposedly not reusable. If you ever try using the key on another computer it will not let you. I'm not sure if you can just talk to the rep and have him activate it for you, but I don't believe so.
